Blasphemy EP by Absolutist
This 4 track EP is the perfect introduction to one of Aberdeen's hottest bands at the moment. The opening track has rapidly become a revered number to me, and to hear it live is becoming bliss. With “Grinding Teeth” sounding like train slowing into the station only to derail and run over awaiting passengers and then the lyrical content of “Freedom of Disinformation (FOD)” which is simple but effective. Final track Blasphemy is a slow starter than careers into action and rips the arse with some powerful lyrics. Recording doesn't capture the essence of seeing the band live however, so make that a priority. 7/10
